The Lightning Damaged the Church in Suzdal

Numerous lightnings stroke the cross of the church and it fell down into the building. Also, the central part of the church burned down.

The fire was extinguished very quickly, other wooden constructions situated beside the church didn't suffer. Fortunately, the primitive inner painting of the low tier wasn't touched with the fire, and the church plate was carried to the museum storage.

Recovery works will start very soon. What is more, the restorers of Vladimir offered to make all the recontruction work absolutely free.

Preobrazhenskaya church, built in the 18th century, is the highest of the three temples of the ensemble of Suzdal Museum of wooden architecture and rural everyday life.
