A monument to the balalaika will be set up in Bezhetsk town of the Tver Region, the regional tourism committee has reported today.
The place has been chosen not casually, since Bezhetsk is the home town of the founder of the Great Russian Orchestra of Folk Instruments Vasily Andreyev, who was born there exactly 150 years ago.
The tourism committee has reminded of the fact that the Crayfish Museum and the Bee Museum opened in Vesyegonsk and Sandov respectively have been successfully working for several years already. As for Bezhetsk, the Raspberry Museum was opened there in December, 2010. Raspberry is the symbol of the town and is depicted in the emblem of this ancient provincial Russian town.
