The Museum of Household Effects displaying household items of Russia of the late 19th - early 20th centuries has been opened in Gorodets town of the Nizhniy Novgorod Region. The museum is settled in a merchant house that was built as far back as 1906. A hidden treasure consisting of money and paraphernalia was found there in 2010. The museum presents household effects of the pre-revolutionary Russia. Among the exhibits there is a unique cash register. Besides, the museum has a rich collection of utilitarian items, such as oven shutters, locks and various vessels. Several years ago the Museum of Samovars was opened in Gorodets. Its collection totals over a hundred rare and unique samples of water heating devices, including the tiniest, the biggest and many-tapped samovars. Source: ria.ru
