Exhibition of Church Photographer Dmitry Nikitin Opens in Petersburg

The exhibition of Moscow church photographer Dmitry Nikitin has been opened in Carl Bulla Salon in St. Petersburg.

The exposition of photos featuring life of the Russian Orthodox Church displays pictures mainly taken with a film camera.

Imitating the 19th century style and reflecting the events documentarily but keeping up an artistic view, the author is one of the followers of traditions of the 19th century great photo master Carl Bulla, who gave the name to the photo salon in 54, Nevsky Prospekt. Drawn towards the pre-revolutionary historical period, his works are replete with the spirit of the past epochs, in spite of being contemporary.
