Fifty years ago Mariinsky (Kirov) Theatre was giving a perfomance in front of the audience of London. After half a century the theatre is coming back to the capital of England. Ballet admirers of London are looking forward to this event.
All the perfomances will take place on the stage of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. The programme is going to be breath-taking. One of the most expected perfomances is a modern staging of the classical ballet of Rodion Shedrin "Anna Karenina", choreographed by Aleksei Ratmansky. Besides, three ballets of Mikhail Fokin will be shown - "Shopeniana", "Shekherezada" and "Firebird". Also the public will see " Scotch Symphony" of George Balanchine and "In the Night" of Jeremy Robbins.
Classical ballets also will be shown : "Swan Lake", "Don Quijote", "Bayaderka" . The brightest stars of Mariinsky Theatre will participate in the tour: Uliana Lopatkina, Diana Vishneva, Ekaterina Kondaurova, Igor Zelensky, Denis Matvienko and many others.
The lead of American Ballet Company David Holberg will support Russian troupe as well.
