The government of the Republic has worked out a new plan of tourism development till 2016. The realisation of the programme will result in the increase of the amount of Russian and foreign tourists .

The plan will be realised in three main directions: creation of modern recreational clusters, popularization of tourist routes and tourist safety.

Yakutiya is a part of Far East Federal Okrug. More than 2/5 of its territory is situated behind the North Polar circle, 80 % of its area is occupied by taiga forest. In the recent years the Republic has developed its tourism and offers such unique routes as " Diamond road" or " Kingdom of Permafrost". You can find here also etnographic centres, which along with traditional culture rebirth, are aimed at tourist attraction.
