Russia has got to Group F with Portugal at the World Cup 2014 due to the draw held on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro. The Russian team has chances to reach the finals.
‘Russia will have no problems reaching the finals of the World Cup in Brazil in 2014 judging by the results of the recent draw for qualifiers,’ President of the Russian Football Union Sergei Fursenko said.
Russia has to compete with Israel, North Ireland, Azerbaijan and Luxemburg in Group F as well.
‘I guess, Russia is in a rather medium group. There are two favorites in it, Portugal and Russia, two average teams, Israel and Northern Ireland and two outsiders, Azerbaijan and Luxemburg. It is a convenient group where Portugal and Russia have to define a winner between each other. The other teams should be beaten,’ said ex Vice-President of FIFA Vyacheslav Koloskov.
