More than one thousand motobikers from Russia, the USA and Europe have confirmed their participation in the international Bike Festival "At the Edge of the Earth", which opens on Tuesday on the shore of Tinkan bay in Primorsky Territory.
"It is already the ninth festival, which gathers bikers from every corner of the globe in the cosy Tinkan bay, near the Fokino town. More than a thousand Russian and foreign bikers submitted their bids. But actually there is going to be even more of them, because hundreds of bikers come to the festival from eastern Russian regions", Victor Mironenko, the head of the "Nakhodka Motoleague MC" motoclub and one of the festival organizers, said.
According to his words, they are setting the campsite at the moment. Unregistered participants are to bring the tents with them or to live in summer houses, which are situated on the bay's shore.
"This year the festival will be devoted to naval theme and the celebrating of the Russian Navy Day. Thereby we are trying to improve the patriotic education of children and youth, to honour the memory of seamen who lost their lives for our country", Mironenko said.
Within the fest it is planned to hold an arm-wrestling tournament among bikers, different contests and concerts of the best Far East rock-groups. The headliner of the big gala-concert will be a famous Russian rock-group "Aria".
The International moto-fest "At the Edge of the Earth" is the biggest festival at the Russian Far East and its popularity grows from year to year. Last summer about 2.000 bikers took part in the festival. Many foreign bikers traditionally go there with their families and friends.
