Russian citizens were not hurt in riots in London. Still Russian embassy in London recommends avoiding areas of riots and violence.
“The Russian embassy in London doesn’t have any information about Russian citizens hurt or detained in the riots held on 6-9 August 2011 in the London areas Tottenham, Enfield, Brixton,” said Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Russian embassy in the UK recommends Russian citizens who is visiting or staying in London to abstain from visiting the areas and to follow the situation on 24-hour news channel (BBC 4 and LBC) and in the internet using the key word “LondonRiots”.
On Saturday night the riots started in Tottenham in the North of London and spread further on Sunday and Monday in London and some other cities in the county.
