Russia Searches Adoption Solution with Finland

Russia has offered Finland to create a joint Council on Adoption and Children’s Rights in Mixed Families. This has been discussed by Russian and Finnish Prime Ministers in Sochi today.

The Russian side considers that such problems should be solved by people themselves. Having occurred in such a situation, grown-ups should think not of their ambitions but first of all about children. The legislation of the country of residence should be observed and international legal and regulatory framework should be consolidated.

Russia has already signed the adoption agreement with the U.S. and is discussing the possibility of creating such a Council with France.
