MAKS 2011 is Opened in Zhukovsky

International Aviation and Space salon MAKS 2011 has been opened in Zhukovsky today. Over two hundred new Russian and foreign air jets will be presented there.

      
A major Russian aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi Company (JSC) will show the whole line of warfighters, including a unique fifth generation fighter T-50. It will do its demonstration flight for the first time at MAKS. Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant (JSC) will present Mi-26 T2, it is a new generation of the largest rotary-wing transport helicopter.

      
On the eve of the salon a new Boeing-787 Dreamliner, in which construction Russian engineers take part, has arrived at Zhukovsky. The largest airliner Aerobus A380 will do its demonstration flight over the airfield. About one hundred jets are to do flights.

      
For the first three days MAKS 2011 will be opened only for officials, journalists and business people. From August 19, MAKS will be opened for all visitors.
