Hunt Is Prohibited In Two Areas of Tver Region

End of August is a traditional time of hunt. The hunt is open now for brown bear, elks, wild boar and wildfowl.

The biggest amount of bears is in Toropezkiy ( 239 head), Penovsky ( 193 head) and Selizharovsky ( 148 head) areas of Tver region.

It is the mating season for elks, when bucks put up real fights for does. That's why experienced hunters imitate the voice of the " rival" to entice the buck.

Hunt season for wildfowl has been opened from the 20th of August. There are many ways of hunting of ducks : during the morning and evening flights, with the help of stuffed animals, with special methods of approaching, with gundogs ( spaniels or greyhounds).

The only exception are the areas of Bologovo and Torzhok, where the hunt is prohibited beacuse of the quarantine, the reason of which is swine fever.
