Monument to the People’s Artist of the USSR - celebrated singer Muslim Magomayev – will be unveiled by the Azerbaijan Embassy in Moscow on September, 15th.

As the City FM radio station reports, a monument about 4 meters high will be set up in a public garden at the crossroads of Voznesensky and Eliseevsky Lanes. The sculptor is Alexander Rukavishnikov — the author of monuments to Alexander II and writer Mikhail Sholokhov fixed up in Moscow. By now all the preliminary work for installation of the monument has been already over. Notes of one of maestro’s songs have been subscribed on the granite fence around the future monument.

Muslim Magomayev died on the night of October, 25th, 2008. The last song recorded by the maestro was Farewell, Baku set to lyrics by Sergei Yesenin.
