Great Britain and Russia have announced this year that Cameron will be the first Prime Minister to visit Moscow since the last official visit of Tony Blair in 2006. The relations beween two countries were spoiled as a result of poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko, Russian ex-spy. British secret service supposed that Russian government was the one to blame.
The announcement can signify that Putin is trying to rehabilitate his reputation in Europe. This meetin can also mean thar part of the negotiations will be devoted to the situation of the company BP, the largest British oil company, which has been recently searched by special services and bailiffs.
Russia is ready to receive foreign investments. It was announced about the partner agreement between the companies " Rosneft " and Exxon. The agreement concerns the development of oilfields in Russian Arctica, the same deal that the company BP was working at.
The main obstacle in the way to the close relationships of the two countries remains the case of poisoning of Litvinenko. Great Britain tried to demand the extradition of the main suspected Alexander Lugovoy, but Russian government thinks, that there is a lack of evidences.
The success of the meeting will be depend on the inner accord of Cameron and Putin.
