Rock painting of an elk 250 to 250 meters large have been found in the Ural Mountains of the Chelyabinsk Region. The image is made on the southeast slope of Zyuratkul Ridge at the height of 860 meters. The picture is clearly visible from the space. The huge geoglyph – a geometrical pattern made on the ground – was found by the local regional specialist Alexander Shestakov after studying photos taken from the outer space and posted on the Internet. According to the head of Arts Department of the Regional Ministry of Culture Anton Tokarev, there are no other monuments of the kind in Russia. So far geoglyphs have been found only in Peru, California and Britain. It is hardly possible to determine the exact age of the geoglyph. Experts assume that the drawing could have been created in the 4th millenium BC – 1st millenium AD. Source: russkiymir.ru
