House museum of the Tarkovskys’ creative dynasty will be recreated in the center of Moscow.
Authorities plan the reconstruction of the cultural center Tarkovsky’s House – a cultural heritage site located at the address 26/1, 1st Shchipovsky Lane.
Now architects are working on the restoration project. The total area of the new cultural center will make 600 sq. m. There will be a film library, exhibition and conference halls, and a memorial part with the original interior of the 1930s-1960s in the cultural centre.
The Tarkovskys’ House Museum is expected to become the venue for literary soirees in memory of the poet Arseny Tarkovsky.
The house, where Arseny and Andrei Tarkovsky lived for several years, had been built in the 1870s. A cultural-museum complex with Tarkovskys’ memorial apartment and a cinema hall should have been founded in this building since long, but on June, 20th, 2004 Tarkovsky’s House was totally destroyed.
