Today a famous Russian boxer Nikolai Valuev, the former WBA heavyweight world champion, starts his expedition to Western Siberia after Yeti to "talk to him about life", according to a spokesman of Kemerovo regional administration.
He added that Valuev was interested in the phenomenon of Yeti who has been actively searched for in Tashtagol.
Valuev, the "Russian Giant", is going to spend two days in Siberia's taiga. The boxer, who is 213 cm (7'0" feet) tall and weighs over 140 kg (some 315 lbs), has already said that he doesn't want to hunt Yeti or do it any harm.
The issue of the possible existence of Yeti in Russia's Siberia has been widely discussed by bloggers and one of them assumed that Valuev is the Yeti, who once went mountain skiing in Sheregesh, got lost and is now tries to find his way home, the spokesman said.
In February 2009, the authorities of Kemerovo region released a report that local hunters has seen some unusual humanoid creatures with a height of 1,5-2 meters near Siberia's renowned ski resort, Sheregesh, Mount Shoriya. The report was illustrated with photos of a big footprint of the unknown creature.
But some experts are sceptical about Yeti's existence in Russia's Siberia. They say that Bigfoot reports were probably used for attracting tourists to the region. Moreover, several tourism agencies have already announced excursions to "Yeti's Cave".
But, at the same time, some scientists say that, in theory, the Kemerovo region's nature and climate are quite comfortable for such creatures as Yeti.
The phenomenon of Bigfoot is very popular among Sheregesh citizens. There is even several monuments, museums and souvenir shops, dedicated to these creatures, in the town.
