One of the world's largest retailers, Victoria's Secret, will open four lingerie stores in Russia's capital, a source in its parent company said on Wednesday.
Such a great present for Russian women was prepared by Moneks Trading, which already operates Next, The Body Shop, Claire's, MúAúC, Mothercare and American Eagle brands.
The first store in Moscow is to open on September 30, in the Mega shopping center at Tyoply Stan. The second store will appear on October 3, in Moscow’s Kapitoly shopping center, The third one will be opened in November, in Mega Khimki. And the fourth store is to open in December, in the Evropeisky shopping center.
The retailer's spokesman said the company has already developed a "special concept" to distinguish Russian stores from its Americans cousins, and that Russian lingerie retailers should be ready for a very strong competitor.
According to Darya Yadernaya, head of the analytical department at the fashion industry service provider Esper Group, Victoria's Secret's success at Russian market is predetermined, as many Russian women know that brend and have experience of buying it abroad.
Lingerie sales in Russia are rising 10-12 percent annual, compared to a 2-3 percent growth in Europe and 3.5 percent in the U.S, Yadernaya said. Budget and lower middle segments of the market have currently the best prospects for growth today.
