Archeologists have found five ancient tombs in the zone of urban renewal of Highway Ì-23 Rostov – Taganrog.
“We have already completed digging of the 17th barrow. As a result of excavation we have five tombs of the Bronze Age: the central one is dated to the pit culture (Early Bronze Age), two of them belonged to the catacomb culture (Middle Bronze Age) and other two were of the log house culture (Late Bronze Age)” - head of the archaeological expedition Igor Gordin informed.
Ancient implements have been found: an almost intact clay vessel of the catacomb culture epoch, two vessels split into fragments, and bronze ornaments in the form of tetrahedral and round beads in two catacomb tombs.
“In the tomb of the pit culture we have found a silicon knife-like plate and a fragmentary preserved bone pin. All the finds have been packed and taken for further research”- Igor Gordin added.
