Comic Monument to Pskov Dweller to Appear in Pskov

A comic monument to Skobar will be set up in Pskov on October, 1st in the framework of celebrations of Day of Skobar.
A temporary construction 4.5 meters high will be fixed in the Komsomolsky Lane. Pskov architects have developed the project specially for the holiday. Till date the organizers have not disclosed the secret of what the monument will look like, and invite everybody for unveiling of the mysterious monument at 12 am, the press-service of the Pskov District administration informs.
Skobar (i.e. a shackle-maker) is the funny name for Pskov dwellers. As a legend says, the name is accounted for by the fact that by order of Peter I shackles were made in Pskov for building of the Russian fleet.
Along with the unveiling of the monument a unique exhibition Forge Mechanics will be held in the Pskov forge court yard waits. An extensive merry-making program with performances by folk-rock bands from Pskov and Petersburg is expected on the Day of Skobar.
