Chair Helping to Overcome Vices Appeared in Voronezh
"Chair" monument in Voronezh

The sculpture of a large bronze chair has been opened in the park near the Government House. According to the authors this “magic doctor” will save from rudeness, greed and other forms of immoral behavior.

The idea belongs to Alexander Nozhkin, an artist from Voronezh. In the middle of 90th he made a draft and the first model of humorous monument. However, in 2000 he died in the age of 42.

The artist’s friends Sergey Gorshkov and Yuri Astapchenko remembered about this idea and has recently got a chance to realize it. The sculpture has been made in three weeks at the bell factory.

An instruction explaining how to use this unusual device can be find next to the monument. You should sit on a chair and then see the changes - evil becomes good, greedy becomes generous. The smile is the first sign of the recovery.
