Rally of Moscow Defenders: “Absurdity, Meanness and Ignorance Rule in Moscow”

On Saturday the public movement Arkhnadzor organized a rally to protect the historical heritage of old Moscow under the motto: “Stop breaking our city!”

The event was timed to the anniversary of change of the city mayor.

Participants emphasized that they had hoped that after Luzhkov's resignation, protection of architectural monuments would be revived in the city, and barbarous demolitions would be stopped. However, the change of the monstrous attitude to the architectural and art heritage of Moscow has only been paid lip service to. According to the well-known architect Alexey Klimenko, avidity and savagery still rule in town-planning of Moscow.
