Monument to Shurik to Appear in Krasnodar

The governor of Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev suggests establishing in the center of Krasnodar a monument to the leads of Leonid Gaidai’s legendary comedy “Operation Y and Other Shurik's Adventures”.

In case the idea of the governor is implemented, the monument to Shuriku and Lida will continue the series of eccentric sculptures that Krasnodar authorities decorate parks and city squares with.

Thus, a monument to enamoured dogs appeared in the city in 2007, and a sculpture based on Ilya Repin’s painting “Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks” was set up there in September, 2008. And this year on a City Day that Krasnodar marked in the past week-end, the city park became decorated with an architectural park complex Kind Angel of Peace.
