A monument to Nikolai Nikitin – the author of Ostankino TV Tower, which still remains the highest one in Europe – has been set up in Ishim of the Tyumen Region.
      
       The image of the eminent townsman has been embodied in stainless steel as a token of the uniqueness of the founder of the television tower. The composition 4.5 meters high depicts a figure of an engineer who is looking at the ready drawing of the tower.
      
       The monument has been created in the style of the 1960s; even the chair that sculptural Nikolai Nikitin leans against, corresponds to the furniture of the mid 20th century. The tower model gives complete information about the unique construction, from its height of 540 meters to the year of engineering design 1963.
