Paul McCartney has announced his plans to play in Moscow on the 14th of December as a part of a year-end tour, which also includes the United Arab Emirates and a number of European cities. The information about that concert has appeared on the musician's official site.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, Moscow Olimpiysky Arena's visitors will hear about 40 songs - both the hits of "The Beatles" and its former member's solo compositions. Setlist of one of the recent McCartney's concerts can be seen here.
The "On the Run" tour will begin with the rock idol's first ever show in the UAE at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Then Paul McCartney will visit ten cities, including Moscow, and end the tour with a traditional Christmas concert in Liverpool on December 20.
"This is the only concert in Russia during the tour. We worked hard to organize his visit and finally we succeeded," Vladimir Zubitsky, the head of concert organizers SAV Entertainment and Russian Show-Center, told RIA Novosti.
Tickets for the concert are on sale since Monday through booking offices of the Olimpiysky Arena and Internet booking services.
It is the third visit of Paul McCartney to Russia - he gave perfomances in Red Square in 2003 and in St. Petersburg's Palace Square in 2004.
