There is theatrical culture outside of Moscow, and Forbes.ru wants to bring it to those cultured businessmen and foreigners who want to discover and explore Russian culture farther away from the capital city. To this end the publication has printed the list of the best Russian provincial theatres. The Top-10 of non-Moscow theatres include 3 drama theatres from the prominent Ural cities, a few from Central and Southern Russia, and even one in Siberia.
The theatre in Omsk was opened in 1872 and is thus one of the oldest drama theatres in Russia. The theatre is a 6-time winner of the Golden Mask Award; it has also been internationally acclaimed. In 2011 it was awarded a Fyodor Volkov Prize introduced by the Russian Government for the notable contributions to the development of Russian Theatre.
