Today an interesting and unusual exhibition has been presented to residents of Chelyabinsk. Sixty black-and-white pictures of 1930-1970 tell visitors about the history of Air France company and its famous passengers.
Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Armstrong, Albert Camus, Edith Piaf, Coco Chanel, Alain Delon and other artists, scientists and politicians of the last century are photographed near the passenger boarding bridge.
In 1956 Air France opened new airport terminal in Orly. In order to strengthen the prestige of air travel, the company used its world-famous passengers. The project "Gallery of Stars" became the symbol of the epoch of propeller planes, jazz bands and records of Edith Piaf. Photographs from this collection are still exhibited around the world.
Portraits are completed with photo chronicle of the first years of aviation. Shots from the collection of "Glimpse over 1929-1950 years" are provided by the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Air France. The aithors of these pictures are Roland Briens, Philippe Formaison, Claude Agostini, Philippe Briat, Jean Gueneux.
The exposition will be opened until November 12.
