Russian Painting to Become the Main Sotheby's Lot
Vasily Vereschagin “Pearl Mosque at Delhi”

The masterwork of Russian artist Vasily Vereschagin will be on view at Sotheby's auction in New York. Experts expect that the picture will be sold for not less than $3 million.

The canvas (4x5 meters) is one of the most striking works of Vereschagin. It was created after his travel to India. The artist is famous for his images of war and this Indian painting differs much from what he did.

Pearl Mosque at Delhi will be on view in Sotheby’s York Avenue galleries beginning 26 October, alongside the full sale exhibition.
