One of France’s biggest recent stars, Isabelle Geffroy, better known under her stage name Zaz, is finally coming to perform in Russia. The soulful jazzy singer will give her first Russian concert on October 31, in Crocus City Hall. The next day, on November 1, she will perform in St. Petersburg,
Her story is a story of common French girl from a poor family, who used to sing on Montmartre and never dreamed to of the heights of popularity she possesses today. Zaz began her career in 2000s, performing in many blues and jazz bands. Then she was able to find her own unique style, inspired by jazz, soul and ethnic notes.
She became an international sensation in 2010, after publication of her first album "Je Veux". In 2011 the singer released her third studio album, "La Fee", which went gold in Russia.
Zaz is admired by many Russian music listeners, her albums are always in the tops of Russian musical charts. One mights say, the simplicity, heartiness and an unforgettable sense of freedom in her songs are those qualities, which attract the Russian people's attention and love. Besides her gorgeous voice and music, of course.
So, no wonder that her appearance on the Russian stage is an event long-awaited by her many fans. The news of her performing in Moscow came to them as a bombshell, all the tickets were sold out in two hours. So the organizers had to make an addtional concert in St. Petersburg. Zaz plans to fire up the audience with hits from all three albums.
