"Beaming Angel" to Descend Over Moscow

On November 4, an International Charitable Festival "Beaming Angel" will open in Moscow Cinema Center on Krasnaya Presnya. This year the festival's motto is "Kind Cinema Returns". 

      Within school autumn holidays the festival prepares a very interesting and informative content especially for schoolchildren. There is also will be an exhibition of children's creativity placed in the Cinema Center's big hall.

      "Beaming Angel" opens for the eighth time this years, within the framework of the country's complex programme "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia's Rising Generation". The festival's purpose is to accustom young Russians to the country's cultural heritage, to support production and distribution of Russian films for children and to revive traditions of family cinematograph. In other words, the festival has become a "collector" of all the best tendencies in Russian and foreign cinema.

      The formal opening of the "Beaming Angel" festival is scheduled for the fourth of November, this Friday. More than 60 films have been included to the competitive program and 245 feature, documentary and animation films from different countries pretended to be included.

      The contest's winners will be chosen by an international jury composed of famous Russian, French, German and Italian film directors, several Russian prominent cinema figures and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church. Traditionally, there also will be a children's jury with Honoured Teacher of Russia Olga Nersesova as its head. And a Audience Award will be given to public's favourite film.

      The festival's visitors will be able to see a number of retrospective works especially chosen by Russian ghostly fathers. Special anniversary retrospectives will be dedicated to Konstantin Simonov, Grigory Chukhrai, Yevgeny Leonov, Sergei Nikonenko, Eduard Nazarov (an art director of the "Pilot" animation studio) and the 75th anniversary of "Soyuzmultfilm" (the biggest Soviet and Russian animation studio).

      The festival's organizers say that it is an charitable event, so the entrance will be free, by invitation cards. The festival will close on November 8, and after November 10, different Russian cities, as well as near-abroad countries, will host special actions, called "Beam of the "Beaming Angel" festival".
