Cirque du Soleil
“Saltimbanco” is a classic show about the life in a modern metropolis, drawing inspiration from urban rhythms and diversity of city's inhabitants.
The premiere took place in 1992 and since then the performance has been seen by more than 12 million viewers in about 200 cities. In 2007 an updated version of “Saltimbanco” was created. The title has something in common with an Italian “saltare in banco”, which means “to jump on a bench”.
The show has traditionally involved international cast: 51 people present more than 20 countries. The technical part and extravagant design are complemented by impressive costumes, fantastic illumination and interspersed with humor and live music.
Unlike many performances of Cirque du Soleil, created for an adult audience, this one will also amaze children – it's a family show with lots of difficult acrobatic tricks, great music and festive atmosphere.
It is the third tour of Circque du Soleil in Russia (we have already seen “Varekai” in 2009 and “Corteo” in 2010). It started in Yekaterinburg on October 15 and continued in Kazan. The Canadian troupe will stay in Moscow until November 13 and then move to St. Petersburg.
After the tour Cirque du Soleil is going to gain a foothold in the Russian market of entertainment by creating a stationary platform for their performances.
