Russian national puzzle team has won the first place at the European Puzzle Championship. The event started on October 29 in Hannut, Belgium, and have been lasting for 24 hours. For that time all the teams were to assemble as many puzzles as possible.
The Russian national puzzle team consisted of 12 members, was able to assemble 11,630 puzzle parts for 24 hours. That win has become the first triumph for Russians at the international puzzle competitions. In 2010 Russian team took part in the European Puzzles Championship but only took the 20th place.
Russians proposed two different teams for the championship. One of them took the 8th place, assembling 9,438 details, but this result has also become a breakthrough for Russian puzzle masters.
The second place was occupied by Belgians, the championshp's hosts, with the result of 11,371 parts. Frenchmen were the third, assembling 10,175 puzzle parts.
The European Championship is one of the most prestigious puzzle tournaments in the world. It is held for the 26th time this years. More than 100 teams from France, Spain, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Russia and other countries have taken part in the competition.
