On Friday, Russian boxer Denis Lebedev won over three division world champion James “Lights Out” Toney in Moscow and so became the winner of the WBA cruiserweight belt.
43-years-old American boxer have never been knocked out for his long professional career. Lebedev pledged to break that tradition and send ‘Lights Out’ Toney to the canvas, but wasn't able to do it. Anyway, the Russian boxer dominated throughout the fight and was called a winner of 12 rounds by all three judges unanimously and so became a winner of the whole fight. The final score, 120-108, speaks for itself.
Toney dropped to 73-7-3, with 44 knockouts, and was limping after the fight. At 197 1/2 pounds, he was at his lightest weight in eight years. This was his second straight defeat.
That win is the 23rd in Denis Lebedev's career. Thus, the 32-year-old southpaw, who knocked out Roy Jones Jr in his previous fight, made amends for his defeat to Marco Huck for the WBO cruiserweight title last December and now has won the WBA belt.
