- An important decision has been made by the Department of Culture in Moscow – museums will be free for visitors on winter holidays and every third Sunday of the month, starting from January 2012.
A special calendar of various cultural events will be prepared by the end of the year. All – tourists and locals – will be able to use it to get information where to go on holidays.
The Department is expecting the number of visitors in Moscow galleries to increase.
Besides, the authorities are going to extend the opening hours of most museums to 9 p.m. like in many Western exhibition halls.
