The Most Famous Cinema Magazine Comes to Russia

The Metropolitan Media company plans to publish the licensed Russian version of American Variety magazine, which was the first to issue a cinema review more than a century ago. 

      According to reliable sources in media market, the first number of the Variety magazine will be published in December 2011 or January 2012. The magazine will be issuing twice a month with 25,000 copies circulation.

      It is also planned to issue the Variety Russia on the official site in weekly format. In the USA the Variety magazine issues in daily (about 27,000 copies) and weekly (25,000 copies) formats. The official magazine's site also has daily updates, including movie news, reviews, interviews, blog posts, entertainment industry events and the most authorized statistics of world cinema market.

      The oldest cinema magazine belongs to the Reed Business Information publishing house, which also issues the New Scientist magazine (Russian version is already available).

      Russian Metropolitan Media Company specializes in magazines dedicated to the cinema industry. In particular, it holds "The Film Distributor's Newsletter", "Action!/Cinema Manager", "Projectionist Today", "Media Market" and others. But none of this editions is designed for mass audience.
