From now on travelers, flying from Sheremetyevo airport, may check in through Skype, says the airport press release.
To check in a passenger should make a video call on login svo_checkin. One should tell the date, the flight number, surname, e-ticket number to the operator.
It’s also necessary to show one’s passport and visa to prove the right of entering the country of destination. During the Skype registration it’s possible to tell if a medical aid or a wheelchair will be demanded at the airport.
After this a passenger will be sent a boarding card to print and carry at the airport to meet all pre-flight procedures.
If a passenger has a baggage, to register it he/she is advised to follow to the Drop off or any other free check-in-desk, where the registration for the flight is held.
Passengers whose payment for the ticket is not admitted, those with animals, weapons and ammunition, and children unaccompanied by a grown-up won’t be able to use the service.
According to the information at Sheremetyevo site, the service of checking in through Skype is available for the following air companies Aeroflot, KLM, Airfrance, Air astana, Transaero, Aerosvit, Hainan Aitlines, airBaltic and Turkish Airlines.
