Russia expects positive results in EU visa-free talks after the summit in Brussels. According to the words of Sergey Lavrov, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russia and the EU have already reached an agreement on “the list of steps that must be done in order to start the visa-free short-term travel regime for Russian citizens”.
The minister suggested that the arrangement could be made on December 7 at the summit in Brussels.
France and Germany support the negotiations with Russia on the visa-free regime, as the economic effect of the border opening is obvious.
Russians are expected to travel to the EU countries more often after the adoption of the visa-free policy. According to the survey of Momondo.ru, German, France and Italy are most interesting to Russian people. At the same time, 93% of European respondents say about the difficulties concerning Russian visa application: you have to spend up to 4 weeks to get the entry allowance. On this basis, the EU and Russia are pursuing a common goal of visa-free regime for their citizens.
