Russian Legend Boxer Proves His Superiority (video)
Fyodor Emelianenko

On Sunday, Russian famous boxer and MMA legend Fyodor Emelianenko earned a victory over American Jeff Monson in the main event of M-1 Global: Fyodor vs. Monson. Thereby the Russian mixed martial arts sportsman stopped his losing streak and proved that he is still in a perfect form.

We would remind you that this was his first win since losing to Fabricio Werdum last summer, then dropping bouts to Antonio Silva and Dan Henderson. So, this was a much-needed win for Emelianenko, who spoke of tiredness after losing to Werdum, and it even raised questions about the 35-year-old boxer's resignation.

During the fight, Emelianenko used kickboxing skills to batter Monson for three rounds, and dropped him three times. He surprised his opponent with a whole bunch of low-kicks and aggressive counterblows. At the same time, he looked more defense-oriented. In the end of the fight, blood-stained Monson, who had seriously injured one of his legs, had to be helped from the ring.

In his post-fight speech Fyodor Emelianenko told the crowd at the Olimpisky Arena that he wasn't going anywhere. He also showed huge respect to Monson.

Talks of Emelianenko competing on the Dream New Year’s Eve card have already started, with Satoshi Ishii as a possible opponent.
