Yesterday the 4th Brazilian Film Festival started in Moscow cinema “35mm”. The organizers believe that, despite the critics' attitude to this art, many Russian people like Latin American movies. The festival helps to look at the cinema of Brazil from the new point of view. The program includes 10 films from authors of different generations. One of the features of the event is the variety of presented genres: drama, comedy, documentary, biopic. The screenings are held every day until the next Tuesday, so you should just choose the movie you want to see. It can be a family drama about the son and his father (“A Suprema Felicidade”), a biography of spiritual medium (“Chico Xavier”), a romantic story about typical “Don Juan” and a girl on a bycicle (“Malu de Bicicleta”).
Among the documentaries there are “Estamira”, the movie about an old woman, living for 20 years in the city dump, and “Garapa”, the story of three families from Seara, suffering from starvation and feeding children with sugar cane juice (garapa).
The festival will run until November 29.
