Resorts of the North Caucasus Want to Control All Resort Business in Russia

The Russian state company Resorts of the North Caucasus (RNC) will strike for expanding its authorities. The RNC intends to suggest creating all-Russian resort operator on its base to the government.

In a special presentation RNC offers to create a company, which would develop all resort areas in the country, including Kamchatka, the Baikal Lake and the Black Sea. The head of the RNC, Akhmed Bilalov, has confirmed to the Kommersant newspaper about the company’s intentions.

The representatives of the RNC are ready to suggest creating a special Ministry of Tourism. At the moment this brunch is guided by the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and Youth Policy and also by the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism). The head of Rostourism claims he has heard nothing about the idea of a special Ministry of Tourism.

The company Resorts of the North Caucasus was established in December 2010 for developing tourism in the region. The state company will build five resorts in Matlas (Dagestan), Mamison (North Osetiya), Arkhyz (Karachaevo-Cherkesiya) Lago-Naki (Adygeya) and Albrus (Kabardino-Balkariya). The state banks Vnesheconombank and Sberbank are among minority shareholders.
