Sogaz to Insure Gazprom for $2.8 bln

The Sogaz Insurance Group turned out the only applicant for making insurance contracts from 2012 up to 2016 with the state monopoly Gazprom, reports Interfax. The companies will make 12 contracts.

Sogaz offered 22% reduced price for its insurance services. The Insurance Group asked for 85 billion Rubles ($2.8 billion) as compensation, while Gazprom maximum compensation in the competition was 108.6 billion Rubles ($3.6 billion). Gazprom will spend 34 billion Rubles for property insurance and 41 billion Rubles for complementary medical insurance.

Sogaz is the current Gazprom’s insurance company.
