Kuzbass Chooses Its Seven Wonders
Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral, the oldest Kuzbass temple

On the occasion of 70th anniversary of the Kemerovo region Kuzbass is going to choose its 7 wonders. The contest aims to draw attention to the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the region.

The event has been already held here. Thus, the winners of previous years were Kuznetsk fortress – an architectural monument of XVII century; museum of Dostoevsky, Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral – the oldest Kuzbass temple and even the Metallurgical Plant of Kuznetsk - the greatest project of the communist period.

The results of the contest will be announced in March 2012 and the album “Seven wonders of Kuzbass” will be issued. The winners are expected to be included in sightseeing tours and their images will be used in advertising and souvenir production.
