Boris Grebenshchikov Concert Cancelled for Political Reasons First Time in Last 25 Years

Management of the St. Petersburg State University has cancelled Grebenshchikovs free concert and meeting with students scheduled for December, 23rd.
      
      The first one to report about it was the musicians friend - writer Boris Akunin. According to him, the authorities of the educational institution anticipated some kind of insecurity. Boris Akunin also points out that it is the first time within recent 25 years that Grebenshchikov is banned from playing a concert.
      
      As for the leader of Aquarium band, he associates the cancellation of his concert in St. Petersburg State University with upcoming on December, 24th mass public rallies in protest against falsification in elections into the State Duma.
      It is a local initiative. The very fact of banning is like paying me a compliment - Boris Grebenshchikov mentions.
