New Year Celebrations Start in Yekaterinburg (video)

Winter holiday celebrations will start in Yekaterinburg this weekend. New Year and Christmas shows will be held in different parts of the city. The authorities are going to organize more than 80 special places to celebrate the event. 

      The main Christmas tree of Yekaterinburg will be opened at the Square of 1905 year on December 29 at 6.30 p.m. Here visitors will also find beautiful ice town. Besides the city centre, celebrations will take place in many remote areas, starting from December 24.

      Oktyabrsky district: Christmas tree in Mayakovsky Park. Opening: December 24, 5 p.m.

      Zheleznodorozhny district: Christmas tree in Tagansky Park. Opening: December 28.

      Ordzhonikidzhevsky district: Christmas tree at the Square the First five-year plan (Ploshchad pervoi pyatiletki). Opening: December 27, 4 p.m.

      Verkh-Isetsky district: Christmas tree at Halturina Street, near shopping centre “Carnival”. Opening: December 28, 1.30 p.m.

      Kirovsky district: Christmas tree near shopping centre “Park Haus”. Opening: December 27, 4 p.m.

      Chkalovsky district: 9 New Year spots for celebration. The main will be located in Himmash microdistrict, near House of Culture “Ekran”. Opening: December 28, 1 p.m.
