The Russian actor Yevgeni Mironov, a co-founder of the Artist Charity Fund, has lent his support to disabled children who spend their New Year at the Albreht Federal Centre for Prosthetic Surgery in St. Petersburg.
Many leading Russian companies responded to the appeal to send in money donations and toys. A fitness club "Ginza Fitness" and "The Greenhouse Conditions" (Teplichnye Usloviya) restaurant offered their clients to send a customised postal cards to children, while "Beeline" (mobile provider), "The Globe Gourmet" (a luxury gastronomy retail network), and "The Bread House" (the leading baker of Russia's North-West) are giving presents to the little patients.
Children who are currently undergoing treatment at the Albreht Centre for Prosthetic Surgery are often disabled, some have not got limbs, others have hearing and speaking disability. Being physically impaired does not diminish their love for life, and all of them, aged between 3 and 18, have a keen interest in either Computing, or Circus, or Acting.
St. Petersburg citizens and visitors can leave their messages for children during a visit to "The Greenhouse Conditions" restaurant (25, Griboyedov Canal Embankment) between December 19, 2011 and January 8, 2012. Furthermore, 10% of every receipt will go towards the Artist Fund's program "I Want to Walk", opened especially for the patients at the Albreht Centre for Prosthetic Surgery.
