Regular public transport in Moscow will probably face some schedule changes during New Year's Day celebrations. Officials say Moscow subway network will extend its hours and the trains will run one hour later than usual – until 2 a.m. Nighttime work hours of surface transport are going to be extended to 3 a.m. These changes aim to help people easily get home after New Year's Eve celebrations.
Currently, this question is still being discussed in the city administration.
Traditionally, celebrations will be held in the centre of the capital. Tourists and locals can visit one of Moscow parks or watch the firework at Vasilievsky Spusk near the Kremlin.
