In 2011 Abkhazia will cut significantly mandarin supply into Russia, claimed Abkhazian Minister of agriculture Beslan Djopua.
According to the official, as of today a bit more than seven thousand tons of citrus have been imported into Russia from Abkhazia, this is 14 thousand tons less in comparison with the last year.
In the current year Russia will get no more than 10 thousand tons of mandarins.
This year Abkhazia expected to get 22 tons of mandarins, but citrus have failed to ripen because of early frosts.
Abkhazian mandarins are traditional treatment at the New Year’s tables in Russian families. Citrus export, first of all into Russia, is one of the main income items in Abkhazian budget.
