Yuri Nikulin's House Museum Opens in Smolensk Region

Yuri Nikulin's House Museum has opened in his native place, Demidov District of the Smolensk Region.

The project of founding the house museum of Yuri Nikulin was launched in 2003. At first the museum founders redeemed the house, in which the Nikulins family had lived in the 1920s and then they had to reconstruct it totally because the house was in a very bad condition.

By the 90th anniversary since the great actor’s birthday the museum received its first visitors.

The museum organizers, who have invested lots of money and efforts into creation of the museum, have got no support from authorities or commercial companies.

In October a monument to Yuri Nikulin was set up in Demidov, where the actor had lived for four years.
