Dwellers of the Karelian settlement Kulikovo bordering on Leningrad Region have once again stood up against opening a cast mine near Yastrebinoe Lake.
      
      Inhabitants of the settlement have reminded that they had spoken against the open-cast mine back in 2006 and had been supported by community of Karelia, Leningrad Region and St. Petersburg. People are concerned about the destiny of Yastrebinoe Lake, which is at the distance of a few kilometers only from the planned open-cast mine. However, the Ekoprom-transit company has not given up its plans to start development of the building stone deposit, but is also actively preparing for its working out.
