Russia Will Take Part in World Snow Day

Russia ia among 39 countries, which are going to participate in the first World Snow Day, initiated by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The event will be held January 22, 2012.

      Countries will organize snow festivals, during which adults and children can take part in skiing, skating and snowboarding competitions. The World Snow Day goes under the motto “Explore, Experience and Enjoy the Snow” and aims to raise interest in winter sports as well as to engage youth in active lifestyle.

      The project involves such countries as Russia, USA, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Japan, Iceland, Australia, Spain and many others.

      There are several places in Russia, where the World Snow Day will be held: ski centre “Abzakovo” (January 21), ecopark of Magnitogorsk (January 22), funpark “Bobrovylog” in Krasnoyarsk (January 22), Rosa Khutor resort in Sochi (January 22), tourist complex "Mountain Air" in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Janua 22).
